FWIW, I don't recall hitting this problem when building 14.1 last year.

Also, just for some context, we don't have anyone on the Zig team that
daily-drives FreeBSD, so updates to the FreeBSD cross-compilation support in
Zig are usually done on Linux. So it's fairly important for us that
cross-compiling FreeBSD keeps working.
