The SIGINFO handler for the du(1) command writes its informational output to
stdout, contaminating the output stream, which may be being piped to another
program that does not expect it, or redirected to a file, such that it cannot
be seen on the controlling terminal from which the SIGINFO was sent.

Rather than printing SIGINFO results to stdout, commands should either print to
stderr, or open and print to /dev/tty.
