^Triage: update patch to apply correctly in git

Currently going through old tickets and see where unresolved patches seem to
still exist.

I took the liberty of updating the provided patch and rebased it to the current
git version. 

If it is still relevant, I am not sure, but it seems to make sense to still
apply it. On how to test, I can unfortunately not be of any help.
