OK, that makes things simple. I MFC'ed all prerequisites to stable/14. So the
only thing you need to do is:

git cherry-pick -x 3008f30d2c2cabdd7e17f7fb922139da8681ffbd

Please not that I reverted some commits since I got the author wrong. No change
in the actual context.

I plan to MFC the fix to stable/14 and stable/15 in three days.

Please test and report if you experience any issues.
