I still do not understand what you are saying.

CPU reported just the Precision bit in the status word, there is no Underflow.
As result, si_code was set to FPE_FLTRES.

Would CPU reported Precision | Underflow, then the situation is different.
But your test does not demonstrate what you describe as a bug.
