I had a similar issue on my system (Ryzen 5 8500G APU) when using the
graphics/drm-61-kmod version 6.1.92 I had built from ports. After upgrading it
to 6.1.128.1402000_2 (from binary packages), shutdown started working properly.

I'm unsure if this is a separate issue, or if multiple conditions need to be
present for the hang to manifest.
