But now after patching it fails during installworld:

mtree -deU -i -f /usr/src/etc/mtree/BSD.var.dist -p /var
mtree: unknown group `audit'
mtree: failed at line 18 of the specification

Looks like it would be not that easy to slice all that stuff to make those
UIDs/GIDs optional.
