Please note that OpenBSD reverted this patch, as this causes problems sending
CR to
some Cisco equipment:

I cannot say whether my patch is incorrect or the Cisco equipment behavior is
incorrect.

But anyway, it fixes behavior in some cases and breaks in other cases.
