I've bisected this to commit 70253b538f68f2787d5913702337eb600799a3c3

Its parent commit boots normally on my MicroServer. My test procedure was:

(clone FreeBSD src)
make buildworld
make buildkernel
cd release
make clean
make obj
make bootonly.iso
