Thank-you for the response. I'll have a look through your suggestions.

Just to clarify, suspend and resume does work perfectly fine most of the time
on this laptop.

My point is that now I'm getting an intermittent issue where it gets stuck part
way through the suspend process. It looks to me like something in either the
graphics or wifi drivers is causing the issue. I had a similar issue about a
year ago when the machine had active nfs connections.
