Additional info:

This is running in a VM. The zpool is a mirror. The relevant bhyve options are:

        -s 5,nvme,fbsd15.img0 \
        -s 6,nvme,fbsd15.img1 \

The host: 
14.3-STABLE FreeBSD 14.3-STABLE stable/14-n272111-7f41c76b84d0 GENERIC amd64
