I can commit or submit a review request for the change that I proposed.
I tested it so I am confident in it.

If Ed would like to commit his version, I would be glad because:
- less work for me :-)
- it's more readable (doesn't require any knowledge of make's variable
expansion modifiers)[*]

[*] but requires understanding the different between '=' and ':='.
