Said gperftools maintainer here. BTW OSX has {s,}brk but their implementation
simply fails. Fair game if you guys do the same IMO. BTW I never said "I expect
all platforms to have working sbrk".

Also if you choose to amputate it entirely, it is IMHO fair game too. It is not
in posix for example.
