On all systems I get logged in /var/log/messages
/usr/sbin/service: WARNING: $ is not set properly - see rc.conf(5).
I can reproduce this by running:
# service -e
The problem occurs in /etc/rc.d/addswap
The attached patch fixes the problem for me.
