https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=262671 Bug ID: 262671 Summary: Kernel panics after a invalid SNDCTL_MIXERINFO ioctl Product: Base System Version: CURRENT Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: kern Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: firstname.lastname@example.org Created attachment 232581 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=232581&action=edit A patch that should fix brought up issue. If you call the `SNDCTL_MIXERINFO` ioctl with a `oss_mixerinfo` structure which has a uninitialized `dev` field, a kernel panic is triggered. I know that in this case the `dev` field is expected to be set, but I still think that the kernel should not panic if a malicious/bad program forgets to set it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
