@Reporter, could you add the outputs provided in comment 0 as
individual/seperate attachments including:

- pkg version -v output
- /var/run/dmesg.boot
- /etc/rc.conf (sanitized where necessary)
- pciconf -lv output
- `usbconfig -v list` output
- /etc/make.conf contents if not empty
- short recording of the skipping symptoms in effected media players (if
possible)
- build configuration (configure/make flags, etc) of the effected media players

Are the skips reproducible with audio only files, in any condition, or only
videos?

Are multiple formats/containers (mov, mp4, mkv) and encodings effected, or only
some?
