FreeBSD defaults to no news is good news. Unlike Linux that is much more chatty. There is no use for the printing of the name. If I set the name for= the interface I know what the name of that interface is going to be. I look through dmesg to check whether my custom router with 12+ interfaces started up correctly. Having this sort of gibberish clobbering the output is confusing.
