My original plan was to bypass FreeBSD pam_krb5 and use pam_krb5 from ports but
that required the patch. Realizing now that ports/security/openssh-portable
supports flavors, it will accomplish the same test without having to apply
patches and rebuild openssh in base. openssh-portable-gssapi is linked using
MIT KRB5 instead of Heimdal (either base or port). It's just another way to
test my hypothesis.

Juxtaposed to this, I'm trying to install FreeIPA on a Fedora 37 machine at
$JOB using Fedora's default dnf repo but unfortunately it's throwing python
errors about data structures that do not exist during ipa-install-server. Looks
like FreeIPA is an eclectic collection of Java and python and I suspect they
have forgotten to include a prerequiste in the RPM .spec file when building the
RPM.

Is your FreeIPA is either a RHEL 8 machine or an appliance purchased directory
from FreeIPA?
