            Bug ID: 257247
Summary: freebsd-update / pkg: add automation, no questions,
                    continue from interrupted state
           Product: Base System
           Version: 13.0-STABLE
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Many People
          Priority: ---
         Component: bin
          Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org

Hello world :-)

I was recently on extremely slow cellular connection with some old (laptop)
machine with 12.0 that had to be upgraded to 13.0 before I could work on it.
Unfortunately upgrade process was interrupted due poor internet connection. I
had to restart is manually over and over, several times per day, and finally I
abandoned the process. What is even worse I had to press Y on "does this sound
reasonable" question.

Is it possible to add -A (automation) option or something similar so:
1. the whole process does not ask questions.
2. the whole process restarts from where is was interrupted (i.e. connection
broken).
3. I just get the information that download is completed and I can manually
proceed.

This option would be extremely helpful to both freebsd-update and pkg(-static)
:-)

Sure I need to maunally restart the machine, perform freebsd-update install,
pkg-static update /upgrade, and again freebsd-update install. But the
interrupted downloads seems to break whole process here and it would be really
nice to have it "just do it for me even if there are connection problems" :-)

Thank you for considering! :-)
Tomek
