My guess here is that if someone else produces something
that is an upstream that just happens to be usable for
some range of RPi5 FreeBSD use, that is what will be used
by those willing to deal with such.

As stands, the only potential/existing upstream for the
RPi5 D0 parts for FreeBSD seems to be the EDK2 style:

https://github.com/NumberOneGit/rpi5-uefi/

that is a variant of the support for the original
RPi5's.

So: Strictly (implicit!) volunteer based, largely without
need of kernel development for the limited range of what
it would support. (Same as for the older RPi5's via
https://github.com/worproject/rpi5-uefi/ .)
