I have the exact model mentioned (Pi4 8GB), and used to run FreeBSD 14.2 
perfectly on it - no issues at all. What errors do you get when
booting / running it?

There was no need to limit the RAM to boot it (even though I never tried 
to max it as a stress test) I could also boot it from the USB port from 
an external SSD and the whole system ran transparently. What errors do
you get on it? Granted, I have not done that in a year or so, and never
tried 15 on it, but it seems strange that it would break out of a 
sudden like that.

Fun fact: If I set powerd="YES" and overclocked it a wee bit, I could
even run MS Teams on it, something that no Linux distribution managed to
do, only FreeBSD!
