Was there any text before the U-Boot SPL message, such

I'll note that U-Boot here has been configured to provide
UEFI based booting. The above is the FreeBSD loader.efi
in the path and name in the EFI file system in the EFI
partition that it needs to be in in order to be found
and used.

It likely is doin UEFI/DeviceTree instead of UEFI/ACPI.

That brings up the question about our experiment:

Are you after an ACPI based boot? DeviceTree? UEFI
can involve either option.
