Agree. It was the idea behind the port, but it sounded more convenient at that time to first integrate a separate port.
I also had sent a message to the former openiked maintainer about this, but I got no answer.

The openiked-portable team also welcomes the port switch, as the former one is definitely outdated.

I should have requested this change years ago.
