That would apply to me, since I use poudreire(-devel) which
isolates a clean/independent environment for each builder.
(There is also synth and possibly more for such.)

However: For folks using make, portmaster, or the like, build
dependencies that conflict do matter for what overall
combinations can be built based on what is installed in the
live system.
