the discussion happened many time during the last 10 years.
Many people complained (I'll let you dig our bugzilla for such cases) because
some port were made quick & dirty pushed in the ports tree, then a "hero" clean
up and maintain for years before moving elsewhere, the main credit remain to the
initial porter.

Worse if you do something from that intial port for a reason or another (the
repocopy ss it was was done a lot in the past) let say porta1 -> porta2. Even if
the port was rewritten from scratch when the porta2 was proposed, because of the
repocopy the Created by line was inherited, and if removed people like you do complain.
