To cut in on this discussion: as my message to ports@ hinted, portmgr
is intending to get rid of those lines completely in the next months.
We have a version control system, and attribution to the original
creators is, and will always be there.

For the reasoning:
A person just glancing at makefiles will do wrong attribution, when
the 'Created by' line is there, as they don't necessarily have the
history.
All the work that people like Charlie do is marked down by those.
