No additional care or testing is required.  The expiration date you
chose coincides with the end of 2026Q3, and 2026Q4 will be branched from
main after the port has been removed.  All you need to do is merge the
commit that marks the port deprecated so that users of quarterly are
notified if they `pkg upgrade` before the switch to 2026Q4.
