This isn't really a FreeBSD issue, of course we would like that builds 
on any environment Just Work. The bigger underlying issue is that 
third-party projects consider circular dependencies, hard dependency 
pinning et al as "facts of life". [0] There is only so much pressure we 
and other operating system package distributions can exert on projects, 
especially when you have say, entire language communities with their own 
packaging systems feeling that operating system packaging gets in their way.
