+The KDE on FreeBSD project packages CMake, Qt, and software from the KDE Community, for the FreeBSD ports tree.
+The software includes a full desktop environment called KDE Plasma (for both X11 and Wayland) and hundreds of applications that can be used on any FreeBSD machine.
+The mailto:kde@FreeBSD.org[KDE team] is part of mailto:desktop@FreeBSD.org[desktop@], building the software stack to make FreeBSD beautiful and usable as a daily driver graphical desktop workstation.

+The work is ongoing to bring CMake 4.5 to the ports tree (link:https://bugs.freebsd.org/295319[]).
+Qt6 and PySide6 were updated to 6.11.2.

+
+KDE Frameworks, Plasma, and Gear release happen very regularly.
+mailto:kde@FreeBSD.org[KDE team] usually lands these updates shortly after their upstream release.

+* KDE Frameworks ports were updated to 6.31.0.
+* KDE Plasma Desktop was updated to 6.7.5.
+* KDE Gear was updated to 26.08.2.

+Plasma 6.7 is the last release supporting X11 session.
+Future KDE Plasma 6.8 release will be Wayland-exclusive, support for X11 applications will be fully entrusted to Xwayland.

+Deprecated Qt5 is still used by approximately 340 ports.
+During this quarter the package:www/qt5-webengine[] port for Qt5WebEngine has been removed, and most of its consumers have been upgraded to use Qt6.
+KDE team encourages maintainers to migrate their Qt5 ports to Qt6 and KDE Frameworks 6 and to deprecate abandoned by upstream software.
