Although I have not checked for the context in which it is used, this word is almost certainly misspelled as “descendent” is an adjective. The noun “descendants” is most likely the intended use.

I am also struggling to ascertain anything in the way of a style guide for vale files.  Sometimes words with two letters in common are collapsed into a single expression, and sometimes they are not.  Is there a style guide?
