/usr is too diverse.
Separate (from root and from each other) /usr/local, /usr/obj, /usr/ports,
/usr/src, /usr/home are a good idea.
Separate /usr/bin and /usr/sbin ... many potential problems for zero benefit.
Legacy storage allocation schemes are very limiting, of course.
