Yeah, and fixing those is a PITA because committers never want to change
even if they are doing stupid things.

The CORRECT way to do this is to put your files in ~/public_distfiles.
It can take between an hour and a day to get replicated, (not sure, it
used to be every hour, but it seems things change.)
