Nice to see this use of old GCC 4.8 avoided thusly.  It would have
been good to note this change in the commit message, though?


Note that devel/api-sanity-autotest/Makefile has the following comment

  USE_GCC=        4.8 # same as devel/elfutils

which is not the case any longer after this chance.
