That's a bit of a short commit log, given some of the changes.

For example...

> +USE_GCC=	yes

...why USE_GCC here?

> +CPPFLAGS+=	-D__BSD_VISIBLE

And what triggered this setting of CPPFLAGS?  

Those are things that are really helpful to have as a comment 
and/or the commit log.
