I don't understand, you find September 14th 2016 -> April 30th 2017 to
be not long enough ?

They may have had the distfile lying around, but they would have needed
to manually do something to be able to build the port, either remove the
BROKEN line, or set TRYBROKEN, or NO_IGNORE.

The ports are not obliterated from this universe, they have been marked
BROKEN for six months, if anyone is interested in some of them, it is
always possible to resurrect them.
