Thinking about it, I'm inclined to agree with Glen here. The
texts in articles and books should be suitable for offline
reading, and in my opinion names next to email addresses help
in this context. For example:

"If you are greeted by a green puppet instead of Beastie when
logging in, please contact The FreeBSD Extraterrestrial Team."
or
"If you are greeted by a green puppet instead of Beastie when
logging in, please contact The FreeBSD Extraterrestrial Team
<et at freebsd.org>"

versus just

"If you are greeted by a green puppet instead of Beastie when
logging in, please contact <et at freebsd.org>"

In the latter case one could wonder if et@ has something to do
little green men or if it just some creative login for a
fellow human being (a former colleague of me has E.T. as
initials).
