The original form:

"To get involved, come and say hi on IRC and let us know what you're
interested in!"

is an intentionally personalised and explicit call to action directed
toward the individual reader (what *you're* intested in), rather than an
"out there" group of potentially interested persons (their areas of
interest) and its informality is deliberate.

Redundant when reverting the above change, there's a typo:
s/interes/interest

Also, Python 2.7.8 is very likely landing today, so an update on that
item will be forthcoming.
