It seems to me I need gcc to compile a XENHVM kernel

FreeBSD 9.2-STABLE

I get (fatal) errors like this with clang

/usr/src/sys/xen/evtchn/evtchn_dev.c:328:2: error: use of GNU old-style field
      designator extension [-Werror,-Wgnu-designator]
        d_name:      "evtchn",

        .d_name =

# grep clang /etc/make.conf
CC=clang
CXX=clang++
CPP=clang-cpp

GENERIC and VT (and world) build with these clang settings.

Richard
