3D acceleration (and Xv) works with the 2.7 driver, but not with 2.8
and up without GEM.
On the other hand, the 2.7 driver suffers from drawing artifacts in
many Qt4 applications.

Until GEM is available, I'm searching for the commit that solves at
least this artifact problem.
