gmplayer trouble

after upgrading x.org to 7.4 and radeon to 6.10.0 i encounter the 
following trouble with gmplayer:

and gmplayer refuses to start. mplayer works fine. all ports are freshly 
built, csuped today at midnight. -date 2009.01.24.00.00.00

googling didn't show me any similar cases
