Well, just rebuilding kernel will not work...

First fetch versions of right drm codes (not one from current HEAD)
and just rebuild drm.ko and i915.ko module in your case.
There is no need to rebuild/reinstall whole kernel.

If you dont know how to fetch, and which versions to fetch just tell.
