 Hi,
 
 adding Option "CPPIOMode" "yes" fixes the garbled screen but it also 
 disables direct rendering. So hardware 3d acceleration can not be used 
 with the t43p. I did some testing with a fresh RELENG_7, with and 
 without the latest drm-patches from Robert Noland:
