Xv extension broken?

I get the same thing on my MGA G550 with the stock X.org driver.  It
works correctly (or did in the past) with the binary Matrox driver.  I
suspect that X.org is missing some smarts to make Xv run on our
chipsets and it just defaults to a blue screen.
