  I now have replaced the rage 128 card with a e-GeForce FX 5200,
  which uses the nv driver.  I reinstalled the the nvidia-driver 
  port and GLX is not working again.  Shouldn't this work now?  I 
  thought the nvidia-driver was causing problems with the rage 128
