Xorg Lockups

I've been having some problems with Xorg under fbsd 6.0 and now
6.1-STABLE, with an SMP enabled kernel on dual P3 933s. I have a dual
vga nvidia card with two attached CRT monitors, running in TwinView
mode, I have also tried a non-twinview config.
While running both Xorg 6.8 and 6.9 the screen will suddenly hang.
Typically when the system is under moderate to heavy load, but also
sometimes entirely on it's own.
The system responds to the mouse movements, but is confined to the
current screen. Since switching to TwinView the mouse can move between
screens after the lockup. In either case everything else on the screen
is frozen.
I am still able to login over ssh and when viewing top Xorg is running
at 90+% of the cpu. If I kill -9 Xorg the screens drop out of X but the
console is garbled and unresponsive.
I found a previous post from 2004 regarding this same problem on 5.3 but
with no resolution.
attached are two of my xorg.conf files, a verbose dmesg output, and my
kernel config.
Thank You
