(In reply to Peter Grehan from comment #1)
Yes, I limited the ZFS ARC cache with settings

$ cat /boot/loader.conf | grep zfs
zfs_load="YES"
vfs.zfs.arc_max="512M"
vfs.zfs.vdev.cache.size="10M"

During the launch of the virtual machine, I have the following resources:

last pid: 91233;  load averages:  0,52,  0,21,  0,08; battery: 100%
                      up 0+00:02:42  14:21:28
61 processes:  1 running, 60 sleeping
CPU:  0,1% user,  0,0% nice,  0,2% system,  0,3% interrupt, 99,4% idle
Mem: 468M Active, 153M Inact, 848M Wired, 5837M Free
ARC: 530M Total, 45M MFU, 479M MRU, 144K Anon, 2177K Header, 3966K Other
     488M Compressed, 789M Uncompressed, 1,62:1 Ratio

but still it falls
