usb errors on RELENG_8

Hi,
	I get this command

0[upsmon1]# usbconfig -d 1.8 do_request 0x23 0x09 0x0000 0x0001 0
REQUEST = <OK>
0[upsmon1]#

It seems to quiet things down. What does the command do ?
