As mav@ pointed out it is possible to fix this issue by setting
kern.cam.boot_delay so devices/controllers on slow systems have time to
initialize. However what needs to be done is to add a default entry to
conf/GENERIC on platforms like mips or arm. Right now however
kern.cam.boot_delay is only a sysctl tunable and no kern option.
