 After quickly reviewing the code in 8.1 there appears to be dynamic usb =
 quirks in the new usb stack. The patch is effectively orphaned as the =
 new usb stack provides the feature; but people using the old stack do =
 not have the functionality.  To summarise the patch is relevant to the 7 =
 series of kernels, but the functionality appears to be available in the =
 8 and beyond series of kernels.
