I have the same problem described in usb/144915, ie the external HDD works
fine with UFS but I get the following messages with ZFS :

(da1:umass-sim1:1:0:0): SCSI status: Check Condition
(da1:umass-sim1:1:0:0): SCSI sense: ILLEGAL REQUEST asc:20,0 (Invalid
command operation code)
